In 2009, Acemco took a decisive step towards the future by creating its Renewable Energy Division. From that moment, the company began merging its HVAC expertise with solar photovoltaic technology, becoming one of Lebanon’s earliest adopters of hybrid and off-grid systems.
What began as an internal experiment soon transformed into a nationwide mission—to make clean, reliable energy accessible to all. The precision once used to design airflow and temperature control was now applied to harnessing the sun’s power.
The first small rooftops soon evolved into nationwide programs in collaboration with international organizations—UNDP, UNICEF, ANERA, Mercy Corps, Caritas, the Order of Malta, ICRC, Save The Children, and many others. Each project carried the same ambition: to bring reliable power to schools, hospitals, factories, farms, and families.
Each installation became more than a technical achievement—it was a lifeline. In regions where the national grid faltered, solar energy meant continuity: hospitals could refrigerate vaccines, schools could light classrooms, and farmers could pump water without fuel.
This shift marked the start of Acemco’s transformation into a regional pioneer in sustainable energy engineering, uniting two worlds—comfort and conscience, technology and humanity.
Today, Acemco’s renewable portfolio extends well beyond Lebanon’s borders through its offshore division, enabling project fulfillment. Across all regions, the goal remains the same: to deliver systems that combine technical performance with environmental responsibility – solutions that last, save energy and improve lives.
Across Lebanon, Jordan, and the wider MENA region, our teams have executed hundreds of solar installations—from compact off-grid systems to multi-megawatt solar farms—each carefully adapted to its local climate, geography, and social purpose.
In Jordan, Acemco stands behind one of the country’s largest public-sector renewable programs: the Jordanian Army Solar Initiative, delivering over 24 MWp of on-grid systems across multiple military sites including Mafraq, Quweira, and Al Rukban. The project not only reduced operational costs but also demonstrated how disciplined engineering could serve national resilience.
In Lebanon, our work has touched every corner of the country. We designed hybrid and off-grid PV systems for technical institutes, hospitals, and schools, empowering education and healthcare with consistent power.
We built solar pumping systems to sustain agriculture, street lighting systems to enhance safety in rural towns, and hybrid battery-backed installations that keep municipal buildings and factories running through every power cut.
Each system is a tailored solution: engineered for terrain, load profile, and future growth. Using advanced lithium-ion storage, hybrid inverters, and real-time monitoring, we ensure every installation is both efficient and enduring.
